Mumbai witnessed the grand inauguration of the India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) Premiere 2024, one of the worldโs largest gems and jewelry B2B events, at the Jio World Convention Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex. The event was officially inaugurated by the Honโble Shri C P Radhakrishnan, Governor of Maharashtra, in the presence of key dignitaries including Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Minister of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of Maharashtra.
Celebrating Four Decades of Excellence
The IIJS symbolizes four decades of leadership in the jewelry sector, offering a showcase of luxury, innovation, and craftsmanship. Shri Vipul Shah, Chairman of the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), highlighted the event’s significance with over 2,100 exhibitors, 3,600 stalls, and an expected attendance of 50,000 trade visitors from India and over 60 countries. Maharashtra, contributing nearly 70% of Indiaโs gems and jewelry exports, was acknowledged for its pivotal role in the industryโs success.
The Select Club: A Spotlight on Couture Jewellery
This yearโs show introduced The Select Club, an exclusive high-end couture jewelry section featuring elegant designs and innovative craftsmanship from 101 exhibitors. The presence of Manushi Chhillar, GJEPCโs Brand Ambassador, added glamour to the event.
Vision for the Future of Indiaโs Jewellery Industry
Governor C P Radhakrishnan expressed optimism about the future of IIJS, envisioning it as the largest show globally. He emphasized the importance of promoting Brand India and its rich heritage worldwide. Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha urged the diamond industry to engage the younger generation, fostering skill development to ensure the industry’s continued growth and employment creation.
